He was a popular Indian classical musician from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. He was born in a Bengali family and grew up to become a Tabla player and music educator. Ashutosh also worked as an Ayurvedic doctor like his father and grandfather.

She is an Indian classical singer. Girija was born on May 8th, 1929 in Varanasi. She worked in the film Yaad Rahe as a child in 1940. Devi performed on All India Radio (AIR) after her marriage but discontinued after facing opposition from her family. At that time, the upper-class woman was not allowed to perform on a public platform. She taught students to keep her musical heritage alive through them.
